This initiative is a collaboration between the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI)  Coca-Cola Central, East, and West Africa, along with Coca-Cola Beverages Kenya. These partners aim  to establish a sustainable mango supply chain. The initiative seeks to enhance the quality and quantity of mango production, reduce post-harvest losses, and create market linkages for Kenyan mango farmers.

Implementation Status

The initiative is currently in the implementation phase, focusing on assessing the existing mango value chain and identifying areas for improvement. The project brings on board various stakeholders, including farmers, processors, and distributors, to develop strategies that address challenges such as pest control, post-harvest handling, and market access.

Key Findings

  • Supply Chain Optimization: Efforts are underway to streamline the mango supply chain, ensuring efficiency from production to market delivery.
  • Quality Enhancement: Initiatives focus on improving mango quality to meet both local and international market standards.
  • Market Expansion: The partnership aims to open new markets for Kenyan mangoes, both regionally and globally.

The main gaps identified which the project intends to bridge include pest infestations, post-harvest infrastructure, and consistency in quality to meet market demands.
